10) Don’t weigh yourself every day or even every week, but just once a month. Better to keep your focus on long term goals than short term gains, and not be discouraged by daily fluctuations.

9) Sugars: Sodas and dessert will kill your diet. Gradually reduce and limit to a once a week treat.

8) Salads: Start with a salad for your main meal of the day. You’ll eat a smaller portion of your main course.

7) Fruit and Veg: Essential minerals and vitamins your body needs to cleanse. Find a veggie drink and a fruit smoothie drink that you like and drink a glass of each every day. You’ll eat less and be less hungry.

6) Breakfast: An 8 oz glass of Kefir each morning is great for your digestion for the rest of the day - full of great probiotics, combine with an apple or banana for breakfast.

5) Alcohol: It’s the carbs in alcohol that get you. Good beer is probably the worst. Fact: The less you drink the night before the more likely you are to work out the next day as you’ll find you have more energy in the a.m. Give yourself one night a week off. Wine and spirits (no soda mixer) better than beer.

4) Carbs: Wheat and gluten are the number one carbs to avoid followed by starches like potatoes.

3) Aerobic Exercise: Walking or running for 40 mins a day is the key to weight loss.

2) Weights: To maximize the benefits of aerobic exercise, a weight or a resistance work out three times a week will help keep your metabolism up and burn fat while resting.

1) Plan ahead and commit: Decide the day before what your goal for exercise is the following day. If you go to the gym, pack your bag the night before. Try to do some form of exercise every day.
