Pedors247 Blog - Open Mouth, Insert Foot

I first heard about LinkedIn several years ago and like many others I thought of it as another social media concept for the business person, a networking group for people to advance their careers and seek out new job opportunities.

Then, as President of a small orthopedic shoe company that had transitioned from a boot strapped start up to a fairly well recognized branded company, I didn't have much need for it as I was focused on building the brand and not my career.

It's only recently that I've realized that LinkedIn is so much more than that. The LinkedIn groups provide a great forum for discussion as to what is going on within the orthopedic foot care Industry and the challenges that industry professionals face on a daily basis.

This blog is an attempt to generate discourse among like minded professional individuals who are passionate about providing care for patients with foot healthcare issues. The range of topics is huge. Slowly I'll work through them one by one, and hopefully come up with some answers to the challenges the industry faces. The blog will rely heavily on the responses to topics posted on LinkedIn and I'd encourage you to participate by joining LinkedIn and the groups that exist for your profession.  Also, you will notice there is also a Forum on this site that will allow us to really get into some topics and I'm looking forward to some spirited debate.

I'm sure at some point, I'll "Open Mouth Insert Foot" which I think makes a good name for this blog. Forgive me if I do.
